For my final idea for an opening scene, I have revolved my idea around this sign depicted above. The drama will be entitled ‘The Woman’s Guide To Love And Lasting Relationships’, the opening scene will establish the film as a drama as it reflects dramatised life. The titles in the scene will be the same font as the sign in white, contradicting the theme of innocence.
The opening scene will run like a series of five speed dates, and the dialogue will feature the actress as the sole voiceover over the scenes, establishing her as the protagonist:
“The woman’s guide to love and lasting relationships. 1. Find a man who makes you laugh. 2. Find a man who has a good job and can cook. 3. Find a man who is honest. 4. Find a man who will pamper you and give you gifts. 5. Find a man who is awesome in the bedroom. And 6. It is very important that these men never, ever meet.”
With each section, we will meet each male character and feature them doing the subject of the line.
Throughout the film, the audience will see how she manages with ease the five men until the men cross each other and turmoil breaks loose.
